TEAM CHALLENGE DAYS
All of our pupils, from Nursery to Year 6 are in team point teams. Bugthorpe have Ladybirds, Grasshoppers, Dragonflies and Bumblebees. Sutton's teams are Badgers, Owls, Squirrels and Hedgehogs.
Each term, working with the team captains (Pupil Voice), we choose a foundation subject to focus on for a Team Challenge Day. Our four teachers then plan and deliver an exciting activity and the team point teams move around the school, participating and learning together. An example: French Team Challenge Day, saw the children visiting a travel agents, and drawing landmarks; playing French boulles; making French toast and tasting other foods; and learning vocubulary through games like Twister and snakes and ladders.
The children, are not only exposed to a broader curriculum, but learn vital communication, problem-solving and team building skills, embedding our family atmosphere.
